A NEW INCOMEA New Income Q&A
Q: Would you live in a "mixed income" condo/apt? Liberal politicians in my town are tired of the violence and ugliness associated with the projects, so they are tearing them down and moving people into new "mixed income" condos and apartment buildings. The idea was to have about 75% middle class people in with 25% welfare bums. The problem is that they can't find enough middle class people to fill up the buildings. If you were working hard and paid market price for a nice apartment, would you want to live next to someone on welfare who was living there rent free? I wouldn't, and it just seems like another idiotic liberal idea that costs tons of money and failes. Besides, if someone on welfare is living in a nice expensive apt, where is the incentive for them to work and get an apt of their own that would be cheaper and in a worse neighborhood? A: I understand what your concerns are,but let me share something with you: Not all people on Welfare are "bums" ... in our State, "Michigan" if you are on Welfare, you have to work at least part-time or you won't get your money. They don't even give you enough money to live on. Try to stay "open minded" some of these people are really good people and you might be amazed on how good they really are :)
